Processing and Analysis of Micro-Arc Oxidation Coating on 319S Aluminum Alloy

In this study, a high-hardness and wear-resistant ceramic coating was prepared on the surface of 319S aluminum alloy using micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technique. The effects pulse width, negative voltage, KOH concentration MAO were investigated, microhardness roughness measured. morphology, elemental distribution, phase composition analyzed SEM, EDS, XRD, digital microscopy. influence wear evaluated friction-wear tester. results showed that in sodium silicate solution system, with an increase thickness gradually increased hardness initially then decreased. With density first decreased, dense layer concentration, decreased increased. When width 3000 ms, voltage 130 V, 1 g/L, exhibited best density, highest 1426.8 HV thickest 55 μm. reduction cracks improvement indicated enhancement resistance coating. decrease depth scars demonstrated excellent
